Prospective students

We are interested in getting to know the prospective students and making sure that our lessons fit their goals. New students are welcomed for free consultation. The first meeting is very important. During the consultation teacher will evaluate child’s musical and physical abilities, maturity level, and motivation, and explains the studio philosophy and policies. For the parents it is an opportunity to get to know the teacher, to whom they are going to entrust the child for many years of weekly visits, music education, and tremendous influence. Registration

Lessons enrollment is by semester. Fall semester starts from August – December which is 16 weeks long, the Spring semester starts from January - May which is 20 weeks long. Lessons normally correspond with the public school academic schedule. There will be one week off for Spring Break in March, and Thu-Fri off on Thanksgiving week. All other days are lessons days. Registration fee is $30 which will be included in the payment.

Lesson duration's offered are 30 minutes, 45 minutes and 1 hour, once or twice a week. For children that are 7 years old and younger 30 minute lessons are typically recommended. Once the lesson time is agreed specific weekly time slot will be reserve to a particular student. Additional lessons are available and students can register for them separately. Summer Lessons

It is important that students keep the momentum of their musical progress throughout the year. Students can dedicate more time for practicing, hone the technique and learn new repertoire. Students can register for as many lessons as they like. Lessons can be scheduled with flexibility to accommodate with family vacations and other special activities. Students who enroll in summer lessons will have first choice to reserve their lesson time for Fall.

Payment

Tuition may be paid in full at the beginning of each semester (Fall/Spring) or by installment plan, with monthly post-dated checks that are provided per semester. Payments are accepted by Checks or cash only. There is a $20 fee for late or returned payments. The tuition for the students who join in the middle of a term will be pro-rated according to the remaining number of lessons in the semester.

Make-up policy

Certainly we understand that children get sick and scheduling conflicts arise. Notify the teacher at least 24 hours in advance if the student cannot attend the lesson. Students are allowed to reschedule their individual lesson ONLY two times per semester which should be taken within 2 weeks. There are no make-up lessons given for a late notice, no show or refunds for missed lesson. Scheduled make-up lessons missed by the student will not be made up. There are no refunds for missed lesson.

Occasionally your teacher will have a schedule conflict due to performing activities. If a teacher is absent, a make-up lesson will be scheduled at a mutually convenient time.

Termination

If you decide to discontinue lessons in the middle of the semester the remainder of the lesson will be refunded. Registration and late fees are non-refundable. Any termination initiated by the parent or student requires 1 month WRITTEN notice. The teacher may terminate lessons due to negative behavior, failure to practice, or failure to comply with studio etiquette.

Upon signing up for lessons, the student/parent will be asked to sign and agree to the Studio Policies and Indemnification, Waiver and Publicity Form.
